I quite like the 2nd Gen Ford Scorpio. They aren’t nearly as ugly as I remember them being, and imagine they’d be great for wafting about in, especially with the Cosworth engine.

They’ve aged a lot better than their North American cousins.
In the words of James May, “It’s gopping”. The Scorpio is gorgeous in comparison.

I actually like the Scorpio Cosworth of that generation, the black headlights helped improving the look imo.

It’s like someone rounded off the front of an early-2000s Cadillac DeVille and attached it to a Geo Prizm a.k.a. AE92 Toyota Sprinter sedan.

It’s your oppinion, you’re free to feel that. As long as you don’t say you would like a stretched version with a raised roof, which is what the Dutch Queen used to be driven in.
Luckily it was replaced by a stretched Volvo S80. And now the new king replaced that with a stretched Audi A8L.

It’s just very unfortunate that the car it replaced (and that it was just a facelift of) was much better looking!

Yeah - there’s no denying that the old one was far better looking, but this one gets a lot of flack, which isn’t entirely deserved imho

I remember the first time I saw one, was at the motorshow, I nearly threw up it was so ugly.
The later ones with darkened headlights are not quite as bad but they still ugly!

They certainly won’t win any beauty contests, and I remember when these were still pretty new, and it was pretty much universally agreed they were ugly, but time has been far kinder to them than some cars, and they don’t seem quite as bad now for some reason.

Those wheels look a lot like old AMG Monoblocks

(adds to list of cars once relatively common which have long since vanished).
That was originally the Mk3 Granada. Haven’t seen one in years but I occasionally spot a Mk2 like this:
Some Mk3s wound up taking people on their last journey.

Yeah - it seems like they all just vanished. There were loads around at one point, now it’s much more of a surprise when I see one, and when I do, it’s usually a hearse like the one you’ve posted. It seems like low resale values killed most of them off. And as is to be so what expected from a big RWD Ford, loads got sent to the banger track as well

I can’t imagine anyone going to a dealership and saying “yes, I want to spend money on that”.
What is the Cosseh engine?
